RECITAL DAY PERFORMANCE TIMES
Due to the incredible number of participants, we will be having four performances this year. Below are the show times according to dancers' regular class meeting times. All efforts have been made to place siblings and dancers who are in more than one class in the same show and further changes will not be possible. Families should have received an email with their performance time. For a reminder of your enrolled class/time, please sign-in to your account here.
All costumes have been ordered and will arrive in the beginning of May. Costumes will be given out in class and should be kept (unworn) at home until the dress rehearsal.
A mandatory dress rehearsal on Friday June 15th. All dancers performing on June 16th must attend. The dress rehearsal takes place from 3pm-6pm. Your dancer will not be required to be there for the entire time and will be given an exact start time as the day gets closer. This is a very important step in the recital process as it is the dancers' only opportunity to rehearse on the stage. Dancers who do not attend the rehearsal might not be permitted to perform in the show.
Please note that no regularly scheduled classes will be held on Friday June 15th.
ALL dancers participating in the recital must attend the dress rehearsal. This is our dancers' only opportunity to practice on the stage prior to the recital. We want our dancers to be as comfortable in this new space as possible, so it is extremely important that everyone attend.
Below is a breakdown of Friday's rehearsal times by regular weekly class times. PLEASE ARRIVE DRESSED IN COSTUME AT LEAST 10 MINS BEFORE THE TIME LISTED BELOW FOR YOUR CLASS. Punctuality will ensure our rehearsal runs smoothly and quickly. Dancers are free to leave as soon as their class has rehearsed.
Check the schedule below to determine your rehearsal time on Friday June 16. (For example, if my child is in the Monday 9:15am Budding Ballerinas class, she will rehearse at 2:30pm).
If your dancer is in more than one class, please come dressed in whatever class is listed FIRST in the list above. You will have an opportunity to change your dancer into her/his second costume OR they are welcome to remain in their first costume for the entire dress rehearsal.
Please note, ALL DANCERS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A GROWN-UP AT ALL TIMES AT THE REHEARSAL.

WHERE IS THE RECITAL HELD?
The recitals will be held at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center at BMCC, located at 199 Chambers St (between Greenwich and West St)
WHERE IS THE DRESS REHEARSAL HELD?
Also at Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The dress rehearsal is on Friday, June 15th.
WILL REGULAR CLASSES BE HELD ON FRIDAY JUNE 15th?
No classes will be held on Friday June 15th.
WHAT TIME IS MY CHILD'S DRESS REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY JUNE 15th?

You are free to leave the rehearsal as soon as your dancer has performed. Everyone's punctuality will help us keep the schedule on track.
WHAT IS THE DRESS REHEARSAL?
The dress rehearsal is our dancers' only opportunity to practice on the recital stage. It is a great time for our dancers to get acclimated to this new environment and it is therefore mandatory that all dancers attend. Please arrive dressed in costume at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
WHAT IF MY CHILD TAKES TWO CLASSES?
Please refer to the email previously sent to you to determine which costume your dancer should arrive in. For recital day, please bring their second costume (and shoes where applicable) CLEARLY MARKED with their name. We will have representatives to help them change between their numbers.
IS THE REHEARSAL A DROP-OFF?
The rehearsal is not a drop-off. A guardian must remain in the theatre at all times.

WHERE DO I DROP OFF MY DANCER ON RECITAL DAY, SATURDAY JUNE 16TH?
Dancers should be dropped off in the UPPER LOBBY of BMCC TPAC. Walk up the ramp leading you onto the BMCC campus. Once there, you will find a DWMR representative who will direct your dancer and ONE ADULT to the drop off location, and your other guests to the main theatre entrance. Seating will begin 30 mins prior to curtain.
WHAT TIME DO I DROP OFF MY DANCER ON RECITAL DAY?
You may begin dropping off your dancer 30 minutes prior to show time (shows are at 9:30am, 11:30am, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm, so you may begin to arrive at 9:00, 11:00, 1:30pm, and 3:30, respectively). We advise those with younger dancers to drop off closer to curtain time.
BUDDING BALLERINAS (dancers 18-24 months old) will remain seated in the audience with their families when not on stage. Arrive with your families and take your seats. At the beginning of the show, an announcement will be made telling one adult to bring your Budding Ballerina to the front of the theatre. Immediately following their number, pick up your dancer from the stage and join the rest of your group in their seats.
WHAT SHOULD MY DANCER BRING ON RECITAL DAY?
Nothing but themselves! Your dancers should arrive IN COSTUME and should not bring any food, drink, or other items. Please make sure your dancer has used the bathroom prior to drop-off.
WHAT ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HAIR, TIGHTS AND SHOES?
We leave the hair-do up to you! Whatever your dancer is comfortable with is fine with us, however please do wear the bow/clip/headband that came with your costume. Unless you have been told otherwise, ballet classes wear PINK tights, Broadway Stars, Tutu Tap and Hip Tap dancers wear NUDE tights. Any color shoes are acceptable.
CAN I PICK UP MY DANCER AFTER THEIR DANCE?
With the exception of our Budding Ballerinas (dancers 18-24 months old), dancers will remain backstage or seated in the theatre with the DWMR staff for the entirety of the recital. For safety reasons we do not allow ANY parent to pick up their dancer from backstage until the entire recital is complete.
HOW LONG IS THE RECITAL?
The recitals should run no longer than 1 hour, 15 minutes. (This is our best guess based on previous years and amount of routines. Of course no one can predict these things with so many children involved!)
WHERE DO I PICK UP MY DANCER AT THE END OF THE SHOW?
At the end of the show, an announcement will be made for one representative to exit to the rear of the theatre, where we will release all dancers. (Some of our older dancers will be seated in the theatre during the show. These dancers can be picked up right from their seats in the front of the theatre. Please listen for a specific announcement for these dancers' pick ups).
ARE CLASSES FINISHED AFTER THE RECITAL?

WILL PHOTOS OR VIDEOS BE AVAILABLE OF THE RECITAL?
Yes! All four performances will be professionally captured on video and in photos, and will be available to purchase. Order videos here!
