WHAT WE DO...
At Dance with Miss Rachel, kids ages 10 weeks and up have a place to let their creativity blossom. In unique, inspirational 45-minute classes, kids learn ballet, singing, musical theatre, and more. All classes are taught by two professionally trained instructors who sing along with a live pianist.What makes us different from other kids' programs? Just ask anyone who's taken our classes. Our individualized approach to teaching makes each child feel like a star. At Dance with Miss Rachel, we seek to educate children through storytelling, imaginative song and movement, and spark their inner creativity. Not only do we have fun, dance is the ultimate way for kids to develop balance, strength, flexibility, coordination, rhythm, grace, sharing, and independence!
WHO WE ARE...
"Miss Rachel" Cantor
Owner / Director
"Miss Rachel" comes to NYC from West Bloomfield, Michigan, where her love of all things theatrical began. She performed in school and community shows since age 5 before attending the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy. After graduating High School, Rachel attended The Boston Conservatory, graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Upon graduation, Rachel moved to NYC and has been performing in New York and around the country ever since! In addition, Rachel is an accomplished voiceover artist with national spots for Huggies, Walmart, and McDonald's currently running. Rachel also voices the character of Barbie in all the Barbie read-along audio books. Her passions for theatre and working with children have proven to be a winning combination.
Over the years, "Miss Rachel" has become a downtown staple, sharing her love of song and dance with hundreds of children in the community. After several years of hard work and preparation (including a year rolling her backpack—aka "mobile studio"—around town), Dance with Miss Rachel is truly a dream realized.

"Miss Ashley" Brown Anderson
"Miss Ashley" grew up in Raleigh, NC, where she fell in love with dance at an early age. She graduated from James Madison University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Dance. While at JMU, she taught dance to local students with the Dance4Life program and trained in the Professional Semester at Broadway Dance Center. Her favorite credits include performing in BCEFA’s 29th Annual Gypsy of the Year and a regional production of Anything Goes. She can’t wait to share her passion with young dancers at Dance with Miss Rachel!
"Miss Lisa" Boag
"Miss Lisa" grew up in a small town called Lewiston, NY, but became a city girl when she was accepted to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theatre. After graduation, she spent several years in national tours of the Broadway musicals Show Boat, Cats, Seussical, Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, My Fair Lady, and Mary Poppins. Lisa has worked as an assistant director and as a choreographer at regional theaters all over the country. She was also a dance instructor at the Shanghai Theatre Academy in China. Lisa loves singing, dancing, music, costumes, and kittens. She's excited to share the things that make her happy with all the dancers at Dance with Miss Rachel.
"Miss Marina" Colonna
“Miss Marina” is thrilled to be part of the DWMR team! She is a graduate of AMDA College & Conservatory as well as The New School, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theater. Throughout her years of performing, Marina has acquired many Off-Broadway, regional, and NYC performance credits, which include venues such as Carnegie Hall, Feinstein’s 54 Below, Theatre Row, and many more. She also has extensive training in acting for TV, film, commercial, and print, in which she holds many credits in as well. Her favorite place to be while growing up was her hometown dance studio, so she couldn’t be happier to be part of such a welcoming environment for young dancers!
"Miss Kimberly" Cooper Schmidt
"Miss Kimberly", originally from a small town in New Jersey, holds a BA in Musical Theatre from Manhattanville College. After college, she pursued a performance career that took her from one tiny Off-Broadway theatre to another all while teaching children's dance and gymnastics classes and running events for children and families alike. Her passion for theatre led to a career in production and general management before returning to her love of dance and childhood enrichment here at DWMR! When not at the studio, Miss Kimberly can be found baking or hosting one of her two Broadway-themed podcasts.
"Miss Bridget" Crisonino
"Miss Bridget" earned her BFA from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, from the New Studio on Broadway. Raised in Berkeley Heights, NJ, she grew up surrounded by a family of musical artists and was taught by talented and supportive teachers who continue to serve as her artistic role models to this day. Bridget first brought her love for song and dance to the stage through piano, dance competitions, and participating in Paper Mill Playhouse's All-Star Company. Bridget's affinity for theatre magic followed her as she appeared in roles such as Ariel, Snow White, Belle, Little Red Riding Hood, and JoJo in Seussical. She made her first NYC appearance in the Off-Broadway musical, Evergreen. Bridget continues to perform with the NY Pops in Carnegie Hall Gala Concerts, as well as appearing in various workshops, readings, and television shows. Bridget is so excited to be joining the DWMR team and to share with her students all the joy, love, and friendship from the many years of dance in her own youth.
"Miss Suzanna" Dupree
"Miss Suzanna" is ecstatic to join the Dance with Miss Rachel team. Originally from Raleigh, NC, Suzanna has trained in both voice and dance since she can remember! She graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory and began touring with A Chorus Line (US, Canadian & Japanese companies), and most recently with QUEEN's hit We Will Rock You. Her favorite NYC/Regional credits include, Cabaret, Sweet Charity, 42nd Street, Cinderella, and frequent performances at Rockwood Music Hall. She is a regular judge for multiple dance competition circuits and teaches at studios around the city. Miss Suzanna is grateful for the opportunity to share her knowledge and joy of dance with the promising talent of tomorrow!
"Miss Tara" Forseth
"Miss Tara" grew up on six acres in Maryland with many cats, dogs, and horses. She fell in love with dance as soon as she could walk, and began ballet and tap classes at age four. This eventually led to a passion for musical theatre, leading her to NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she trained at the Atlantic Acting School and The New Studio on Broadway. Favorite regional and college credits include Laurey in Oklahoma!, Martha Jefferson in 1776, Lois Lane in Kiss Me Kate, and Anna in Spring Awakening. Tara is so excited to be a part of the Dance with Miss Rachel team and to share her love of song and dance.
"Miss Katherine Gorham"
"Miss Katherine" is very excited to be joining the Dance with Miss Rachel team! She grew up in San Diego, California, where she received an intensive dance education in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop, and studied vocal performance and musical theater under renowned opera singer Nina Smith. She received a BA in Theatre Arts at Stony Brook University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She has since worked as a dance teacher and choreographer all over NYC while pursuing a career as a comedic television writer. Her favorite choreography credits include American Idiot: the Musical and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Her favorite performance credits include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Next to Normal, and Legally Blonde. the Musical.
"Mr. Andrew" Hanley
Pianist/Baby Bop Music Leader
Andrew J. Hanley is a New York City-based composer/lyricist originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His works include Still Life In A Mile-Deep Bathtub (with Anderson John Heinz), Look (with Jessica Bedford), and The First Six. Other credits include musical contributions to the New York Neo-Futurists’ The Great American Drama as well as "Clown Zer0", a musical podcast. Andrew is an alumnus of the Writers Group at Musical Theatre Factory, a resident company of Playwrights Horizons. His work has been featured at Joe’s Pub, Feinstein’s/54 Below, LA’s A Little New Music, Musical Theatre Factory, New York Musical Theatre Festival, and more. Andrew is a member of the Young Artist Board at New York City Center Off-Center and has worked as a music assistant and copyist for Powerhouse Theater, New York Stage & Film, Disney Theatrical, and Ambassador Theatre Group.
"Mr. James" Harvey
"Mr. James" studied music composition at NYU Steinhardt and the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. His original musical, The Crack in the Ceiling, was produced at the New York Musical Theatre Festival and the New York International Fringe Festival. His one-man comedy show, The Bald Faced Truth, continues to play to sold-out audiences in New York City. As an educator, James has worked for such organizations as Tada Youth Theatre, American Musical Theatre Academy, and A Class Act NY, and is experienced in teaching musical theatre performance, songwriting, and piano.
"Miss Emily" Ho
"Miss Emily” grew up in Taiwan and currently lives in New York. She started playing the piano when she was four. She is a soloist, piano accompanist, piano instructor, and concert producer. Emily was an adjunct faculty at New York University Piano Studies and received her master’s degree in piano performance at NYU in 2016. In the following year, she received the Master of Music Business Certificate at Berklee School of Music. In 2018, she published her first piano album, “Dreamland.” Her performances have been presented throughout North America and Asia. Emily is thrilled to join the DWMR team and play the music for little ballerinas.
"Miss Celeste" Hudson

"Miss Celeste" made her stage debut as a dancing poodle at age three, and hasn't stopped dancing since! She graduated from NYU Tisch with a BFA in Drama from the New Studio on Broadway for Musical Theatre and a minor in Child/Adolescent Mental Health Studies. Since living in NYC, she has been honored to perform at Radio City Music Hall, Joe's Pub, Merkin Concert Hall, with NYMF at the Studio Theatre in the Signature, and in Times Square at The Liberty Theatre, to name a few favorites! She is incredibly passionate about arts education and feels so lucky to be pursuing her dream of sharing her love for dance and the arts with the amazing dancers at Dance with Miss Rachel!
"Miss Alexandra" Gonzalez Kellerman
Alexandra is an AEA and SAG- AFTRA actor who has been working professionally since the age of 17. Shortly after graduating from Roosevelt University with a BFA in Musical Theater, she was seen across the country in the national tour of The Adventures of Huck Finn as Mary Jane. Regional credits include: Jo March – Little Women the Musical, Ariel – The Little Mermaid, Winnifred – Once Upon a Mattress, and Paulinka - A Bright Room Called Day (Chicago, IL and Clearwater, FL). Most recently her work has been seen in New York Off-Broadway as Helga in Lili Marlene the musical (St. Luke’s Theater) and Elizabeth in Old Names for Wildflowers (The Tank Theater / Parity Productions) as well as at the Lighthouse International Film Festival and Bentonville Film Festival with her film Banana Season. www.alexgonzalezactress.com
"Miss Kaitlyn" Konstandt
“Miss Kaitlyn” Konstandt grew up in Amherst, New York, where she received ballet training at the American Academy of Ballet of Western NY and spent summers at The School of American Ballet, Chautauqua Institution, and as an apprentice with North Carolina Dance Theater. After graduating from FIT and working in apparel and event management, Miss Kaitlyn is excited to be back doing her favorite thing in the world—ballet! She is a certified teacher through American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum program and is thrilled to share her love of music and dance with the DWMR ballerinas! Miss Kaitlyn resides in Tribeca with her husband.
"Miss Gloria" Makino
"Miss Gloria" grew up in Maryland and lived in Iowa before moving to New York. She has been singing since before she could talk, and started playing piano at age six. Her first experience playing piano for a ballet class was on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. As a singer, she has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and 54 Below, and was chosen by Hugh Martin's estate to record his last song for the CD Hugh Martin: Hidden Treasures, which has been reviewed on NPR and France Musique. She is also an actress, dancer, writer, and composer, and earned her B.A. cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University.
"Miss Alle-Faye: Monka
"Miss Alle-Faye" grew up in Morristown, NJ, and recognized her passion for musical theater and dancing at a young age. She attended the Professional Performing Arts School for High School in Manhattan and then went on to earn her B.F.A. in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan. Since graduating college, Alle-Faye has toured Internationally with the musical A Chorus Line. Her favorite NYC/Regional Credits include The Wedding Singer, Gypsy, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, and IDAHO! On top of performing, Alle-Faye has always had a passion for working with children and she absolutely loves being able to combine her love for dancing with her love for teaching children.
"Miss Danielle" Mumpower
"Miss Danielle" was born and bred in Bristol, VA, where she started her formal ballet training at the age of 3 and never looked back! She attended East Tennessee State University where she studied in division of Theatre and Dance. In 2010, Miss Danielle led the cast of Tallulah Dies at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, bringing home the Producer's Pick award. Since moving NYC in 2012, Miss Danielle was in the original cast of Raiz with Sliva Dance Company, as well as Checkit Dance! and Improbable Stage Company. She’s worked on many original projects, including features in Myselves, choreographed by Lauren Lasorda, and Roadkill from creators and choreographers Tali Custer and Lauren Lasorda, and most recently in That Which Remains at the IRT Theatre. Miss Danielle is also a teaching artist with Wingspan Arts, and an active member of House of the Roses, a volunteer dance company bringing dance classes to NYC children in community centers and shelters. She is thrilled to join the DWMR team and cannot wait to dance with you all!
"Miss Renee" Ong
"Miss Renee" grew up in Singapore, where she studied piano under Ms. Akiko iijima. Since moving to the US, she studied film scoring at Berklee College of Music under the Berklee’s World Tour’s Scholarship. In New York, she actively performs with renowned dance companies and professional schools, including the Dance Theatre of Harlem, New York Theatre Ballet, Steps on Broadway, and others. Through her music, she hopes to inspire the little dancers at Dance with Miss Rachel.
"Mr. Curtis" Reynolds
"Mr. Curtis" is an actor and musician based in NYC. He's been a pianist at DWMR since 2016 and also works as a pianist at NYU, AMDA, and privately as a coach to singers. His work at TADA! Youth Theater, Music To Your Home, Youth Pride Chorus, and years involved in children's theatre has allowed Curtis to work with many young performers and musicians. He holds a degree in Vocal Performance (Musical Theatre) from NYU and hails from the cornfields of Nebraska.
"Miss Gretchen" Schadebrodtz
"Miss Gretchen" is an American-born Chilean raised singer-songwriter. Her music career started with classical piano performance at Austral University of Chile Conservatory with pianist Ximena Cabello. At the age of 10, she was selected as a singer to perform for the musical, Oratorio 1850, which took place at Municipal Theatre of Santiago de Chile. She studied German at LBI following Sound Engineering at Universidad de Chile, transferring studies to pursue her passion for songwriting in a professional setting at Berklee College of Music. During college, she started writing her first songs, composing and vocal training forming her first band, Gretch. This led her to performing roles for grammy winning-musicians AR Rahman Meets Berklee at BSO ‘14 and Jacob Collier’s Documentary Imagination off the charts : Jacob comes to MIT ‘16. Her personal project took a hiatus after moving to NYC. In 2017 she performed with the renowned Chilean artist Americo and former vocal coach at The Voice Ecuador. Currently she works as a professional composer/producer, piano accompanist and piano/vocal coach while performing with Gretch throughout the city. Her first EP release is coming in December 2019.
"Miss Anna" Stone
“Miss Anna” is a professional dancer and dance instructor with over 23 years of experience. She grew up studying Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Clogging at The Studio for Dance in Cincinnati, OH, as well as training in depth in Ballet at the College Conservatory of Music and the Cincinnati Ballet. Anna went on to attain a Bachelor of Performing Arts from Oklahoma City University. While there, she studied extensively in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, as well as dance pedagogy. Since graduation, Anna has worked regularly as a professional dancer and teacher. She is the Director of Programming and Teaching Artist with Motivated Movers NYC, and most recently, she was seen on stage around the world in both the International and National tours of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Other favorite credits include the original cast of Scrooge No More, directed and choreographed by Broadway’s Lisa Shriver, Le Grande Cirque, and Dancing Queen. Anna has taught with ASTEP and the IRC at the Refugee Youth Summer Academy, and can be seen teaching as a guest artist for studios across the country. She is beyond thrilled to share her passion with the Dance With Miss Rachel dancers!
"Miss Sarah" Treanor
"Miss Sarah" originally hails from Annapolis, Maryland, where she grew up singing, dancing, and acting throughout the DC/Baltimore area. She became passionate about classical music and studied voice at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore during high school before moving to NYC to pursue a Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance and a Minor in Educational Theatre at NYU. She has been fortunate to perform in musicals and concerts in New York City and in regional theaters throughout the US. Some favorite shows include Cabaret and Life Could Be a Dream. Sarah is thrilled to be a part of the team at DWMR!
"Mr. Dan" Wilson
Dan Wilson is a composer and pianist, originally from Philadelphia. He currently lives in New York, where he teaches, accompanies, and directs musicals. Among his compositions include original songs, several chamber works, and a full-length musical. His current projects include a commission for the New York-based Exponential Ensemble, and an original musical slated for a premiere in the Fall of 2019.
"Miss Kasey" Walker
"Miss Kasey" is originally from Carmel, IN and started dancing at the age of three. After receiving a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Oklahoma, she moved to New York to pursue her passion professionally. She has toured nationally with Legally Blonde and We Will Rock You,and performed regionally with Anything Goes, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Who's Tommy, 42nd Street, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at various theatres in Indiana, Oklahoma, and Maine. Miss Kasey is thrilled to join the Dance with Miss Rachel team and share her love of dance with the students!
"Mr. Zack" Zaromatidis

“Mr. Zack" is so happy to be part of the DWMR family! He is an actor and musician who recently graduated from Pace University with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Some of his favorite credits include Jack Kelly in Newsies, for which he won a Syracuse Area Live Theater Award for Best Actor, and James in the Off-Broadway Musical, Elise, which won best musical at the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Awards. He is also the guitarist and singer of NYC-based band All My Sons, and has played venues like Rockwood Music Hall and Bowery Electric. He truly believes that music is one of the best gifts you can give a child, and he is happy to share music with all the Baby Boppers!
