DANCE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Budding Ballerinas (Ages 1.5-2yrs) It’s never too early to start dancing! Little ones are introduced to the world of ballet, using creative movement, games, props and songs, all while instructors teach through song. A great way for grown up and child to bond through music and movement. Child must be accompanied by an adult at all times in this class. Plié & Play (Ages 11-17mos) For our blossoming dancers ages 11-17 months who are just beginning to discover their dancing feet—perfect for those friends who can't wait to start ballet, but need a few extra months of development. Our class will focus on beginning ballet exercises, incorporating the DWMR curriculum you know and love, with the addition of a live musician. We will also explore music using instruments and props. Class will finish with bubble time and open exploration. This class is ideal for those friends who can walk or walk with assistance. Plié & Play friends will graduate to ballet at 18 months. Twinkle Toes (Ages 2-3 yrs) A natural progression from Budding Ballerinas. Our ballerinas are now ready to learn the basics of ballet, including the French words for our dancing. Ballerinas continue to sing and dance with instructors who teach through song. Drop-off class. Twinkle Toes II (Ages 3-4 yrs) Ballerinas now recognize the French terms for most ballet moves. We continue to learn the basics of classical ballet through creative movement, storytelling, and the use of imaginative props. Our little dancers begin to blossom into real ballerinas! Drop-off class. Twinkle Toes III (Ages 4-5 yrs) This class is a continuation of Twinkle Toes II and is open to dancers who have completed Twinkle Toes II and/or are aged 4-5 years. Drop-off class. Twinkle Toes IV (Ages 5-6 yrs) This class is a continuation of Twinkle Toes III and is open to dancers who have completed Twinkle Toes III and/or are aged 5-6 years. Drop-off class. Twinkle Toes V (Ages 6-7 yrs) These divas really get dancing! Ballerinas have mastered the 5 ballet positions and are now dancing at the barre, across the floor, and in the center, all while instructors teach through song. Still just as much fun, but now our ballerinas are ready to focus on the art form that is ballet. Drop-off class. Ballet Company I (Ages 7+ yrs) This class is for our dancers that have completed Diva Dancer Ballerinas I/Twinkle Toes V and/or are aged 7+. This class is for our oldest and most experienced ballerinas. Drop-off class. Ballet Company II (Ages 7+ yrs) This class is for our dancers that have completed Diva Dancer Ballerinas II/Ballet Company II and/or are aged 7+, by invitation only. This class is for our oldest and most experienced ballerinas. Drop-off class. Tutu Tap (Ages 3.5-5 yrs) A twist on our popular Twinkle Toes classes, this 45-minute class consists of 30 minutes of ballet plus 15 minutes of tap! Ballet and tap shoes required. No previous tap experience necessary. Drop-off class. Tutu Tap II (Ages 5-6 years) A twist on our popular Twinkle Toes classes, this 45-minute class consists of 30 minutes of ballet plus 15 minutes of tap! Ballet and tap shoes required. This class is for our dancers who have completed Tutu Tap and/or are aged 5-6 years. Drop-off. Tutu Tap III (Ages 6-8 years) A twist on our popular Twinkle Toes classes, this 45-minute class consists of 30 minutes of ballet plus 15 minutes of tap! Ballet and tap shoes required. This class is for our dancers who have completed Tutu Tap II and/or are aged 6-8 years. Drop-off. Tutu Tap IV (Ages 9-11 years) Our most advanced tap class. This class is for our dancers who have completed Tutu Tap III or have prior instructor approval.. Drop-off. Hip Hop (Ages 3.5-5yrs) Leave your tutu at home for this 45-minute class! Dancers will dance to popular music as well as the standard DWMR hits. Drop-off. Hip Hop/Tap (Ages 3.5-5yrs) Leave your tutu at home for this 45-minute combo class! These dancers focus on two forms of dance—hip hop and tap—in one weekly class. Dancers will dance to popular music as well as the standard DWMR hits. Tap shoes required. Future Broadway Stars I (Ages 3.5-5yrs) Led by professionally trained Broadway performers, kids explore the world of musical theatre through storytelling, creative movement, singing, and acting, while learning about kid-friendly musicals. Kids will focus on several musicals each session (ANNIE, THE WIZARD OF OZ, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, etc.) and present a mini-recital for grown-ups at the completion of each show. Drop-off class. *Future Broadway Stars II (Ages 5-6: For students who have completed Future Broadway Stars I AND are ages 5+ or new students 5+) This class is for our veteran Broadway Stars. As we build on what we learned in Broadway I, we will continue to work on our acting, singing, and dancing chops. We'll begin exploring new facets of musical theatre, such as script memorization, scene work, vocal ranges, and more. Mini-recitals will be presented to grown-ups at the completion of each musical. Drop-off class. **Future Broadway Stars III (Ages 6-8: For students who have completed Future Broadway Stars II and are age 6-8.) This class is for our veteran Broadway Stars. As we build on what we learned in Broadway II, we will continue to work on our acting, singing, and dancing chops. This class will focus on one musical per session. Drop-off class. ***Future Broadway Stars IV This advanced Broadway class is for students who have completed Future Broadway Stars III or are age 7+ with advanced instructor approval. +Broadway Company (Ages 7+: By approval only for students who have completed Future Broadway Stars III or IV and are age 7+) An invitation-only, ensemble-based resident company program for our veteran Broadway Stars focused on collaborating and creating original musicals. Focus will be on cultivating what makes each performer unique, what it means to work as a theatre ensemble, and growing as triple-threat actors, singers, and dancers—includes skills-building (singing, dance styles, acting games and technique), and culminating in a full production. *Future Broadway Stars II: For students who have completed Future Broadway Stars I - OR - are ages 5+ **Future Broadway Stars III: For students 6+ who have completed Future Broadway Stars II ***Future Broadway Stars IV: For students who have completed Future Broadway Stars III or are age 7+ with advanced instructor approval +Broadway Company: By invitation only for students 7+ who have completed Future Broadway Stars III or IV BIRTHDAY PARTIES!
The sky’s the limit for birthday parties at Dance with Miss Rachel! With custom themes such as Princesses & Superheroes, Disney, or Broadway (starring the birthday friend, of course!), we’ll make it a birthday you’ll never forget. All parties include singing, dancing, and music. Custom options including theme-based arts and crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos, and more available upon request. |
